Studio Policies & procedures
When reserving time for your appointment, we commit to meet with you at your scheduled time and eagerly anticipate and prepare for your appointment. Other clients often want to schedule an appointment for a time that has already been booked, and we are unable to accommodate them because of our prior commitment to you. Your appointment is scheduled with accuracy and is reserved especially for you. We understand medical emergencies do happen and sensitivity is shown in such situations.

When reserving your date, book accordingly. All services require non-refundable prepayment to secure. Payments are accepted via chase pay (info@lauramelissastudio.com), credit/debit card, Cashapp ($lauramelissastudio), and cash. These are the only accepted methods of payment. Because your appointment time has been blocked off & our time has been retained, this fee is NON REFUNDABLE and will not be transferred to a different date

The studio schedules appointments on a month-to-month basis. Requests for the day and time in the month of interest will only become available 7 days prior to the beginning of each month. This is for all services with the exception of bridal. Please note that the booking window will remain open through the duration of that particular month.

In regards to cancellations, a service may be transferred to another person as long as the individual is able to be serviced on the same date and at the same time of the pre-paid service. In-house makeup applications may be substituted for a facial or hair removal service as long as the service (including preparation time) does not exceed time allotted for appointment and is at the discretion of Laura Melissa Skincare & Makeup Studio.

For the studio to accommodate you and other patrons on time, we respectfully asks that you be on time for your appointment. If you are running a few minutes behind, please contact the studio via phone call or text message. Each service requires a certain length of time and will NOT EXCEED the time limit. Clients over 15 minutes late are subject to a modified appointment. This means that the time left of the allocated time slot is all that will be available for service. 

Laura MelissaSkincare & Makeup Studio kindly asks that you advise us of any illness, injury, or changes to your health status prior to any services being conducted. Those with contagious illness or viruses such as cold, flu,  covid-19, pink eye, sties, cold sores, etc., cannot be serviced. 
 
If we are unable to perform services due to an illness or emergency, the option to reschedule or a full refund will be provided.

Upon entering the studio, you will be asked to wear a facial mask. Disposable face masks are available for purchase for $1.00. If your service does not require us to touch your face, the mask must be worn at all times. The removal of the facial mask is allotted at the exact time of hand to face contact. We are committed to wearing a face mask and/or shield at all times in efforts to protect against any bacteria or virus.

Laura Melissa Skincare & Makeup Studio is dedicated to ensure cleanliness in every aspect by thoroughly sanitizing & disinfecting the studio and implements. This is done daily and in between every client. Products and solutions are all state and CDC approved. 

It is your responsibility to notify us of any known allergies or sensitives upon booking. All tools, implements, & products are kept sanitary and are sanitized between every service. Makeup or cosmetic products used are hypoallergenic. Facial clients must complete an online consultation form prior to being serviced. Any skin condition should be reported by the client to us prior to the service and, if need be, a sample test  may be performed on the skin to test reaction. Client must agree to release Laura Melissa & Laura Melissa Skincare & Makeup Studio from liability for any skin complications due to allergic reactions.

Outside food is strictly prohibited inside of the studio. Additionally, please do not discard any outside food in studio’s trash receptacles. 
 
Due to safety reasons, limited space and special attention to you the client, only the person receiving service is allowed in the studio space. This includes children and pets. 

Laura Melissa Skincare & Makeup Studio is a Michigan based business and understands that inclement weather conditions are a possibility, particularly during the winter season. Oakland county school closing information serves as a guide for such times. In the case that Oakland County schools are closed, measures will be taken to reschedule appointments accordingly.
